    About the Washington, D.C. Chapter

    Southern University Alumni Federation

    The Washington, DC Chapter of the Southern University Alumni Federation was founded in 1963.  The chapter's members consist of Southern University alumni residing in the Washington, D.C., Maryland and Northern Virginia communities.

    Chapter meetings are held every 2nd Saturday of each month.  No meeting is held in the month of July. 
    Notices are sent out with the location and time information as both may vary from month to month.
     

    The Chapter's goals are to keep alumni informed and engaged in issues surrounding the Southern University System, host alumni gatherings for networking and fellowship, promote the University, recruit prospective students and serve as a liaison between alumni in the Washington, D.C. Metropolitan area and the National Alumni office. To achieve these goals, some of the chapter's activities include, but are not limited to:

     

    1) Annual Crawfish Boil and Membership drive,

    2) Fall and Spring College Fair Recruitment Fairs

    3) The Mardi Gras Ball

    4) Host visiting University and Alumni officials and Guests

     

    We invite and encourage all fellow alumni to get involved with the chapter and support chapter initiatives.  If you are an alumnus of any of the Southern University System colleges, we welcome you to join our chapter.  Your talents, time and involvement will assist us greatly in achieving our goals.  Please visit our Membership section to see how you can join the chapter today!
